Hello everyone! My name is Hannah Adam, and I work out of the practice Hannah Adam – Therapist in Cranbrook B.C. I work through a combination of Art Therapy and Counselling approaches, treating most populations over the age of 14 through to end of life/palliative care. Hello Hannah,

Nice to meet you! I am also an art therapist and RCC. It would be lovely to connect. Do you have a website? Mine is ellyboer.com (or nelsonarttherapy.com, although I am hoping to relocate from Nelson to Vancouver Island this year). Best wishes!

    Hi everyone,

I work in private practice in Langley, working with individuals, couples and parents. I’m a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist, working in the field since 1987. I am a faculty member of the Neufeld Institute, where I teach and work with parents, educators and helping professionals from a relationship-based developmental approach.

    Hi,

I work out of Yukon and focus on trauma, and parenting skills. Aside from CBT, I coach parents on learning co-regulatory skills to support their children.

    Hi everyone,

Great to have this community of practice! I am an art therapist as well as RCC. I work in a highly multicultural setting primarily with international students aged 17-25. I mostly support clients living with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, trauma and who are on the autism spectrum. I also support clients in their gender and sexual identity development and in the refugee application process should LGBTQIA2S+ clients be seeking asylum in Canada due to their home country’s laws/practices.

I also have a private practice that offers art therapy for children and both talk and art therapy for youth and adults. Due to COVID, most of my services are now online. I have worked in the urban indigenous community as well and welcome indigenous clients to connect with me.

I look forward to learning and sharing with the RCC community!

    Thank you,

    Nadina

Hi everyone. My name is Poran. I do work in outpatient psychiatry as well as running my private practice. For years i was the executive director of a non profit that i had founded myself. I did 9 years of my life for that agency, which was a great learning opportunity not only for myself but also for 30-40 other counsellors who over the years joined, learned, shared, and worked with us. Anyway, i had to let go of that job / duty/ community work when i became a grandmother. So since 2018 i am a grandma plus working a lot. Would love to get to host a meeting in my office to network/ mingle, and more.

    Hi RCC’s,

I’m about to launch my private practice after working for several years in public health. I’m anxious and still working out kinks like phone numbers, forms and biz address. I will be specializing in counselling for Adults with ADHD. You can find out more about here: TheADHDtherapist.ca

This is my first community post. You will certainly see more from me as I stumble through the process. I would love to stay connected to others who are working with neurodiverse folks young and old.

Nice to finally be on board here with you all,

    Santina Mozgiel, MA, RCC

Hi Santina, I like your website. The photos are great and it is laid out in a way that feels welcoming and not overwhelming. Good luck with launching your private practice.

I live in Victoria and I’ve been an RCC since 2017. Have you heard of the book Rainforest Mind? I think I have a Rainforest Mind so that book really spoke to me. I heard of it from a colleague who specializes in neurodiversity.

I tried to reply to your message sooner but I just got a new computer and this new one didn’t remember my BCACC password so I had to work that out. I think this platform is amazing. I don’t know why more of us are not connecting on it. I’m glad to meet you and I wish you the best in getting your practice off the ground. It looks like you have a lot of experience and knowledge so I’m sure that will be an asset. I am trained as a family mediator as well as a counsellor and when I started my mediation practice I quickly realized : “This is a business and I don’t know much about business”. I joined Business Victoria and taught myself about business to get my practice launched. When I became a counsellor I just added counselling to my already stable business. I’m sure you will find your way too. Best of luck to you.

Hello/Bonjour everyone from Bordeaux, France where I am currently living for a period of time. My name is Jannie or Jane, professionally, and I just received my RCC designation! Yay! I hope to return to Surrey, BC where I was living before. I was born and raised in BC. I’m excited to start building up my practice, but I’m having a horrible time remembering if RCCs are allowed to see clients from all over Canada or only within BC? My counselling insurance covers me to see clients from all over Canada, but I think the main consideration with an RCC is that only BC residents would likely have extended health insurance for counselling services from an RCC. Is that right?

Hello Colleagues: I’m in private practice in Powell River and thought I would join the group to see what’s going on and how people are doing in the aftermath of Covid. I’m in Semi-Retirement in that I work only 3 days a week,, 5-6 clients on those days, and have been in the counselling field for many years. I still love the work. I’m not sure how active I will be in this social-media environment — just curious at the moment.

    Hi Everyone,

Im Elysia Bronson and I own a private practice called The Woods Counselling Co. where I specialize in Trauma and Chronic Health. Mainly due to the passion I grew from Victim Services work in my local police station where I grew a heart for trauma. And also my lived experiences with chronic health. Basically, I love working in both niches. Im have been getting my practice up and going this past year and would love feedback on the new website if anyones up for it http://www.thewoodscounselling.com, and Im open to referrals and getting connected.
