    Hi everyone!

I’m Alice, and I’m currently located in Nanaimo; however, I’m in the process of building my online practice and as a CCC am able to also work with clients outside of BC.

I focus my practice on gender, sexuality, and relationships. As a member of the LGBTQ2S+ community myself, I often work with LGBTQ2S+ folks for both couples, partners and individual therapy. I mostly work with adults, but I do occasionally work with youth.

I look forward to getting to know you all more!

Hi I’m in Duncan! I’m genderqueer and trans (they/them pronouns) and I think we need a group on here for LGBTQIA2S+ affirming therapy. What do you think?

Hi Angela, I think this question is a great discussion starter for either the Sex Therapists community or Relationship Counsellors community or both. I did Gottman level one and two and taken many EFT trainings as well. I work primarily in the Bader Pearson Model of Couple Therapy, but I do bring Gottman into my sessions to help couples identify what they are doing that is ineffective (the 4 horsemen or poor bid ratio) and how to shift to effective options. Do you use Gottman or EFT in your therapy sessions?

Hello, all. My name is Elana Sures. I have a practice in west side Vancouver, where I see individual adults and couples for a range of issues – most frequently I treat anxiety, perfectionism, and relationship issues. I also have a specialty in prenatal/postpartum. My three go-to approaches are EFT (for couples), Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Have been pleased to still be busy seeing clients virtually. So far, the medium is working well for my clients and I.

Hi I’m Sonder and my pronouns are they/them. I am currently in the process of opening a telehealth practice based in the Cowichan Valley. My specialities are LGBTQIA2S+ affirming therapy, youth and telehealth. I’m currently getting my level one certification for RO-DBT (Radically Open DBT) and trauma treatment for children and youth; I also use many brief therapy models. I used to work in publishing and IT before I became a counsellor and I’m a gamer (video and board games).

Hi Everyone, I’m Tammy from Victoria, BC. I do relationship counselling in the Bader/Pearson Model of Couples Therapy. I’m so excited about this forum. Thank you so much Marci for co-ordinating this and please send a big shout out of appreciation to everyone at BCAA who worked to make this happen. I think this is going to unite our community in a way that no in person options possibly could.

I second that Tammy ~ many thanks to everyone who contributed at BCACC. It’s wonderful to connect and learn about the variety of practices and counsellors outside a social media platform Owl

I’m Shelley in private practice in Kelowna. I see adults and older youth dealing with mental health issues and trauma. I use EMDR Therapy and DBT. I also work with couples using EFT and Gottman. I’m enjoying virtual counselling and want to focus on supporting people with anxiety through individual and group work. I’m looking forward to being a part of this group and collaborating with others through this tricky time of change.
