After further review of the two models I chose (cyclical and seven-eyed), I would like to incorporate more theory into my model than these two allow, specifically feminist theory. After I made my post the other day I was further reflecting that the models I chose didn’t include enough emphasis on systems, egalitarianism, and context. I would like to round out my supervision style further with more of the counselling frameworks that I work from (humanistic, narrative, and feminist). I think that specifically reading more carefully about the seven-eyed theory, the text noted that it used with psychodynamic and family systems theory. While I do appreciate aspects of those theories, they are not those I predominantly practice from and are more indicative of an individualistic western view. Many of the communities that I work with in my urban area may identify as bicultural or multicultural, so I want to ensure that the framework I employ will be suitable to their needs. I can see that my supervisory stance will be evolving throughout the course.
